How To Select your
desktop wallpaper
Choose
the picture you want as your wallpaper and click on the size which suits
your screen resolution... either 1024x768 or 800x600. You will then be
taken to the page where the full size picture will appear (be patient
as some of the images may take up to minute to appear using a slow modem).
When the picture has fully downloaded place the mouse cursor over the
picture and click the right mouse button. On the menu that appears choose
and click "Set as wallpaper".
The picture will automatically be set as your computer desktop background.
How To Set the
Title Colour of your Desktop Icons:
The background colour which surrounds the titles of your desktop icons
can be changed to suit your desktop wallpaper. To do this, right click
your mouse button on an empty area of your desktop. A menu will appear.
Select "properties" from the menu. In the "Properties"
window that appears click on the "appearance" tab. In the appearance
window you will see three selection bars; the first one called "scheme",
the middle one called "item" and the bottom one called
"font". On the middle "item" bar make
sure "Desktop" is selected. To the right of this bar you will
see a color selector. Choose an appropriate color which will blend in
with your desktop wallpaper. For example if you choose the black "chessboard",
then chose black as your icon background... in which case the lettering
below your icon will be white on a black background. (Choose white for
the "white chessboard"). If you choose one of the veggieglobal
backgrounds you can experiment with the drop down colour pallette to find
the exact color which matches the clear coloured area on the different
versions. You can then group your icons into that area for a cool and
smart desktop effect.
