The Other
Orphans of Romania
Many Eastern
European countries are notorious for lack of animal protection laws,
but one small group in Romania is attempting to bring their country's
appalling animal cruelty record into the global spotlight. ROLDA
is a small group of volunteers based in the city of Galitzi, who
with little money and no government support are working to save
the stray and abandoned street dogs. Many of them are puppies, orphaned
through the brutal killings of their mothers by the city's dog exterminators.
