Further Terrible Abuse on Family Pets

A 13 year old boy in Nevada USA was found guilty of gruesomely mutilating a dog.

The boy is accused of cutting the eyes out of a Labrador retriever. The dog had to be euthanized after it was found wandering blind. The case prompted reward offers of up to $5,000 for information leading to a conviction. The boy, found guilty in Juvenile Court , was remanded to his parents' custody and was under house arrest pending a sentencing hearing.

In April 2000 LGVN reported on an incident of road rage which led to a small family dog being thrown under the wheels of passing traffic. Sara McBurnett, owner of the dog named ``Leo'', said the attack occurred after a minor bumper incident in heavy traffic in San Jose, California. The driver of the other car, stormed back and began ranting at Ms.McBurnett. When she opened her window to respond, he reached in, grabbed the small white dog by the collar, and threw it into three lanes of oncoming traffic... killing the dog.

Looking-Glass Comments... Even defenseless animals are the target of such moronic humans. For example, most road rage victims, threatened by such psychotic behavior like the san Jose incident won't report the incident in fear of reprise. A system should be set up allowing victims to pass on license numbers and incidental information to the police anonymously. This collated information would help build up a profile of the driver whereby, if a persistent pattern emerges the authorities can keep a watch on these individuals and act accordingly.
