Modified and Cloned Pets on the Horizon
Scientists
in the US are close to creating genetically modified cats and dogs
for people with allergies to animals.
If successful,
the designer pets will be neutered and sold for high sums of money
to people who otherwise suffer from allergies. Pet allergies in
humans are normally caused by a protein in the animals skin. This
protein is there to help the the animal's skin stay healthy, but
scientists intend to remove it through cell manipulation.
Other US companies are experimenting on pet cloning, so that owners
have exact replacements when their pets die.
Looking-Glass
comments:
Society has become more susceptible to allergies of all types due
to suppressed contact with our Earth's natural biological elements.
Ever increasing numbers of small children grow up suffering allergies
through both over-sheltered and over sterilized upbringing as well
as over subscribed medications - such trends in modern lifestyle
does not give them a chance to build natural immunities.
This report on designer genetics is another example of how we continue
to artificially change the natural biology of our Earth and its
indigenous life, instead of reviewing our own nonsensical human
habits.
