If you have already
explored some of the features found on this web experience called
Looking-Glass
(which, incorporates VeggieGlobal),
then we hope you will agree that you are provided with various
enlightening and useful resources. Many of these are important
portals to good causes - or else directed towards our campaigns
to help you interact with compassionate issues and ways
to pursue them further. You may also like to read the philanthropic
introduction to this unique
web mission.
If you have not yet
journeyed around any of the satellite sites of the Looking-Glass
web mission, then any of the links found on the left margin of
this page will lead you to an abundace of resources, gateways
and campaigns, all created here - for you and in turn to support
the causes that matter. They are all activities to promote and
ensure a humane and peaceful world for everything and everyone.
A Passion for Compassion
A unique, ethically
guided web development such as this is born through pure passion
and positive purpose.
It is continually evolving through years of ongoing commitment
- a growing galaxy of topics brought to you through our own campaigns
and those we promote on behalf of various charities and compassionate
organizations.
We constantly focus on keeping this site fresh - producing significant
bites of thought-provoking information and interactivity each
and every day. Even if you have visited Looking-Glass or VeggieGlobal
many times, it is likely that you have only scratched the surface,
as there are over three thousand pages and growing all the time!
This commitment requires an enormous amount of energy, and of
course your donation would greatly help to give these sites financial
stability. The unique way in which Looking-Glass / VeggieGlobal
has evolved means that investment to create all this was not an
issue when it began. Unlike the gold-diggers of the dotcom boom
and bust, Looking-Glass was conceived to deliver substance through
passionate, voluntary hard work instead of promoting empty promises
that somehow absorbed millions ... then vanished! The result here
is a medium allowing important environmental, humanitarian and
other related issues to be explored - while charities, organizations
and other compassionate groups can interdepend with its output:
reaping the benefits through plenty of high profile exposure via
these sites. With such impetus and organic-like momentum, we are
drawing together a Looking-Glass community who can enjoy and aspire
to this multi-faceted mission.
The
cart before the horse
But it's a "cart
before the horse" scenario, as every resource provided here
is free to access. This means that as well as many of the charities
and causes promoted through these sites rightfully benefit, so
do you - from the useful information, services and axioms found
here. But few wonder how this huge web project can pay for itself?
And because Looking-Glass and VeggieGlobal is free, the sites
receive no sustainable income within this entire process. But
now the administrative situation is serious. These sites can't
continue without donations to keep their gates open; and one of
the main priorities of Looking-Glass is to provide free access
to all compassionate people globally, in all financial situations...
well-off or poor.
So,
if you can afford to put some money in the "honesty
pot" which you see at the top
of most Looking-Glass pages please do so! (Don't wory, the little
mouse doesn't bite!)
At the moment, running Looking-Glass is like running a bath without
putting the plug in!. Your donations will help to slow down that
effect.
We need to plug that bath!
If we can begin to contain a financial source via donations, then
the site becomes stable and assures its survival on the Internet.
What we really hope for is that the bath even begins to overflow!
This way, we will not only be able to support and expand on the
activities we provide, but even more effectively pursue various
animal, environmental, humanitarian and other related projects.
Grants
and funding?
You may find this hard
to believe but Looking-Glass does not fit any criteria for receiving
grants. It simply falls in-between many styles of "community
/ arts / environmental projects" that are listed as eligible.
In fact, one main reason for having no grant status is because
it provides a global service rather than just a local community
service.
So, inside this no-man's land of non-funding status, Looking-Glass
tries to scrape together what it can. For example, the links to
the Amazon products and other affiliated shops and services provide
a few pennies from subsequent sales - but the returns from this
only just cover the site's on-line fees each month. There are
also sections of Looking-Glass that you may notice are not yet
active. Again, these will become so as soon as finance allows.
Sites
support
On
an educational level we also require financial support and sponsorship
to help us with our educational projects and campaigns. The "NOVA"
Key" veggie / ethical labeling campaign, the hugely popular
"Ban The Bang" campaign and the "Green School Run"
are just three of these. But in the other extreme, through our
arts and media site Looking-Glass.TV, we are striving to launch
production programs, which include international, cross-cultural
student theater performances. Also multimedia productions of various
mediums - to give undiscovered talent, opportunities to be seen
and heard across many cultural divides. All new, original concepts
that not only creates educational opportunities, but gives honest
credibility to this creative annex of compassion in art.
So please remember
... from whatever beneficial angle you view the sites, a donation
will help fullfill numerous aspects of the good causes associated
within or linked through this web system.
